The cow market takes place every Saturday and starts at 4 a.m. The market has a special appearance because trading takes place in the dark. The only light is provided by head lamps and a little stationary lighting. Every Saturday morning around 200 cows and calves are offered for sale. Caution! :) Don't step in the cow poop lying around on the floor.
In the cold mornings at the end of the year, small campfires keep the vendors warm. In addition to medication for the cows, drinks and food are also offered on the premises.
Negotiations take place in open, typical wooden huts and on the grounds near the cows. Prices for a cow or calf range around 10,000 to 20,000 baht.
The trucks used to seduce the cows are parked on a one-meter-high ramp that makes it easier to unload the animals.
