Big problem solved. Very often we have been bitten by something almost invisible that lives on the ground. It took us some time to figure out what it is and how to prevent it. From the ground, these insects jump onto our legs and then try to suck blood. The pain one feels later when sleeping. The cause was stray dogs staying on our land looking for food and dry shelter under the house, sometimes up to 5 dogs at the same time. The dogs left us their fleas - a lot.
We decided to make the fence impenetrable for the dogs with a 1.2 meter high wire mesh.
The total length we need is 260 meters, parts of 10 meters and 1.2 meters wide. We attached the chicken wire to the fence with zip ties. No more dogs were seen and the result is amazing, even the fleas have disappeared.
Our new guard dog next to a bush of lemongrass, he has a dog house under the house. He is young, full of energy and he loves to catch snakes.. Before we brought him in, he was examined by a vet and vaccinated. Good to see a dog that isn't constantly scratching and doesn't have to sleep in the middle of the street or under the open sky, like most dogs in Thailand. Very appropriately his name is Brown, in Thai: สีน้ำตาล but they say น้ำตาล which actually means sugar - maybe brown sugar makes sense!
