I don't like looking at this ugly and messed up cables. That is why everything on our property runs underground such as water pipes and power cables.
Not far from our property there is a single-phase power line with a transformer, which serves for our power supply. It is always good to be close to a transformer as the resistance of a long cable will result in a loss of voltage or less voltage at the end of a cable.
With a special truck with crane designed for this work they put 5 new utility poles into the ground from the transformer to the front of our property.

An other group installed the watt hour meter and the necessary cables between our fuse box and the power line. Connection to the power grid (hot wire) takes place after we connected the power cables to our main fuse box. Unfortunately, there are still power cuts and we are thinking about an emergency power system. In addition, the voltage of the network drops at times to low values well below 220 volts. This mainly happens on very hot days when air conditionings are turned on everywhere. Somehow strange we can not see a switch or any protection like overcurrent, undervoltage, overvoltage or short circuit on the PEA side. To protect our devices, we need an undervoltage protection which switches off the mains and starts an emergency generator.
After the last power failure of 5 hours when the lighting suddenly became less and less, we checked the mains voltage on the distribution box after the recovery in the early morning and it turned out to be a surprising value of 234.0 Volts. In our main distribution box we have a DIN rail mount power meter with the standard size, this is the width of the standard DIN module of 17.5 to 18 mm. The device measures total kWh, import kWh, export kWh, voltage, current, active power, frequency, power factor and has settings for Mod:address, baud, parity, current transformer value and the software version. In fact, very handy for use with solar systems, partly because the device can be read via the well-known and long proven Mod-bus data communications protocol .
A brand new (2022) weatherproof watt hour meter, made in Thailand, is installed. At the end of each month, consumption is recorded by hand, printed out and left in our mailbox for payment.
Our fuse box is on our property on a power pole that also serves for outside light and a camcorder.
Our main fuse box has a 64 amp main circuit breaker switch (actually we got a 16 amp connection from Electric City), then a 32 amp circuit breaker for power supply to the house. A 25 amp circuit breaker for future use. Three 16 amp cirquit breakers for the pumps, light and a power outlet in the box. The box contains a control circuit for the well pump which automatically fills the water tank by a float switch and has a hand control switch which is used for watering the garden.
The last power pole will be put into the ground in front of our property. It only took 20 minutes to complete the job.
