Because the house is not under or between trees, for the roof we use pre-painted white galvanized steel without isolation. White keeps the sun's heat out. It has almost no influence on the temperature inside the house.
We use 2 different steel C-profiles for the construction of the roof. The first 100x50x20x3.2 and the second 75x50x20x3.2 . Btw 3.2 indicates the thickness of the material. These C-profiles are common in Thailand and available in all hardware stores. All parts are welded together on the roof.
My beloved ladder is back in the picture. Fortunately not a single accident happened during the construction period.
All metal parts are in place and well fastened to the rebars of the posts.
There is a 25 cm rim around the roof that prevents rain from running under the roof.
Unfortunately no aerial photos of the roof and the grounds, we are still waiting for Google Maps and Apple Maps until the satellite photos are updated. In remote areas this can take some time. I'm thinking about buying a drone, but in order to fly a drone in Thailand, it needs to be registered beforehand.
In the meantime the man on the roof is busy with the last plates and is thinking about how to get off the roof again.
Finally the roof is finished, now we are waiting for the next heavy rain. I can now state that no leak was detected. The roof overhang of one meter also keeps the rain off.
